For Male Patients

Understanding the male partner’s fertility health is an important part of the fertility evaluation.  This includes understanding the patient’s reproductive history and lifestyle, in addition to evaluating the sperm.  A semen analysis will likely be requested by your physician.  This test can provide your physician with key information about the number of semen in the ejaculate and the ability of the sperm to swim in a healthy, forward movement.

When instructed by your physician, contact one of our patient care coordinators to schedule the specimen collection.  We recommend collecting the specimen on-site,  since this will give your physician the most accurate results. Below, you will find instructions on how to collect a specimen for a semen analysis or for intrauterine insemination (IUI).

If you haven’t done so already, you may also be asked to fill out the Male ASRM history form and to send any relevant medical records to our office, including previous semen analysis results, urological history, etc.
